Rob Prince worked as a music journalist through much of the 1980s and 1990s. He was a prime mover in promoting what came to be known as World Music in the late 1980s and early '90s, writing for Q magazine, Folk Roots, Tower Records' Top, BBC World, and more. He moved to Sydney in 1992, where he covered the emerging Britpop scene for Rolling Stone and wrote variously on media topics for a range of publications. In Tokyo, from 1995-1998 he worked as music and entertainments editor for the English language listings magazines Tokyo Classified and Entertainment Tokyo. Since returning to London in late 1998, he has written sporadically on music topics - including a book 'Blue For You' to accompany a CD series on '80s music. His main focus over the past five years has been as primary carer of his two gorgeous kiddies, and - when he gets a bit of spare time - hammering away on the never-ending London Rock & Pop saga (all together now, 'haven't you finished that fxxxxxg book, yet ...?!)
